Vision of agricultural education

For many years, in the past, agricultural studies were held in educational institutions, mainly in the working class settlement.

The many changes in agriculture, the decline in GDP and the entry into the start-up nation era in the Israeli economy, created a situation of reducing agricultural areas and the number of people engaged in it, increasing the average age of the farmer and decreasing the attractiveness of agriculture for the younger generation.

In order to preserve and strengthen agriculture and make it attractive to the younger generation, the integration of children and youth in agricultural activities and research programs and the construction of curricula and work programs, applicable, at the Yotvata research station – cooperation of R&D researchers and schools in the area.
