We were honoured to host the German Ambassador to Israel Dr. Susanne Wasum-Rainer and the German Science and Environment Counsellor at German Embassy – Mrs. Barbara Seimetz, at our experimental research farm on Wednesday, 23.03.22.
Both visitors were interested to hear about research and work of the R&D.
Oren Bar-Lavan, the The Southern Arava R&D manager, together with Dr. Jessica Schäckermann, a researcher of the R&D, showed them different research project implemented at our experimental farm.
They were joined by 2 students from the Arava institute – Mari and Sameh, who are doing their research project as part of bigger research projects of our R&D and by Dr. Tali Zohar a researcher at the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center and the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies.
We highlighted besides others, our water, agro-voltaic and bio-pest control research.
Mrs. Ellen Elend, the Honorary Consul, was in charge of the tour.

Mari Wilson from California USA, Sameh Fuqaha from Tulkarem Westbank, They are students of the AIES and are doing a research internship on biological pest control approaches in date farming supervised by Dr. Jessica Schäckermann, the Academic Director of the AIES and a researcher at the southern Arava R&D.
Oren Bar Lavan is the manager of the R&D, he gave an introduction to the research and goals of the R&D.
Dr. Tali Zohar a researcher at the AIES and the Dead Sea-Arava Science Center gave an introduction to her agrovoltaic research that is implemented in cooperation with the R&D.
